The Rock

Where do I go when there's nobody else to turn to?
Who do I talk to when nobody wants to listen?
Who do I lean on when there's no foundation stable?
I go to The Rock. . .I know He's able
I go to The Rock

I go to The Rock for my salvation
I go to the stone that the builders rejected
I run to the mountain and The Mountain stands by me
When the earth all around me's sinking sand
On Christ, the Solid Rock I stand
When I need a shelter, when I need a friend
I go to The Rock

Don't Be A Pig!

A little different thought today, presented in a little different way but I feel a little different.

Matt. 7: 26-37 (NIV) says, "But everyone who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man. He builds his house on sand. The rain comes down. The water rises. The winds blow and beat against that house. And it falls with a loud crash."

However, in this case it's not the wind or the rain - it's a wolf. What kind of wolf? Matt. 7:15-16 (NIV), "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you pretending to be sheep. But on the inside they are hungry wolves. You can tell what they really are by what they do."

All I can say is - we must not let ourselves become pigs, wanting to hear only the things we want to hear, and tossing all else aside. So many today have a hard time hearing the truths in God's Word because they would have to change their "housing sites" from "beachfront property" to tract housing. Heaven forbid if they (the piggies) couldn't have it all and be privileged to "prime real estate".

Well, I must go now to make sure I'm anchored on the Rock, and not building my life upon the sand. How about you?

He Is My Solid Rock

When you have come to the edge of all the light you have - and step into the darkness of the unknown - believe that one of the two will happen to you - either you'll find something solid to stand on - or you'll be taught how to fly!

Huff & Puff & Then What?

When the sly one starts to huff and puff,
could he blow our house down?

The Bible warns that ". . . grievous wolves enter among us, not sparing the flock. . ." It's time to check our building material.

Where'd that Rock Go?

"...when my heart is overwhelmed:

Lead me to the Rock that is Higher than I."
