Counting My Blessings
It seems that God sends blessings
In very mysterious ways.
He always finds the perfect time
To brighten up our days.
He finds ones to be our friends,
Who truly seem to care,
Friends to fill our lonely hours;
What an answer to prayer!
The Lord blesses our hearts
With many a wonderful friend.
Thank you Lord, most humbly
For the happiness my friends lend.
I Count My Blessings for having
wonderful friends, such as you.
Blessings to you and yours this holiday season.

A Time of Thanks Giving
"O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also. The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land. O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker." Psa 95.1-6

Never Quit
"Whenever you make a mistake or get knocked down by life, don't look back at it too long. Mistakes are life's way of teaching you. Your capacity for occasional blunders is inseparable from your capacity to reach your goals. No one wins them all, and your failures, when they happen, are just part of your growth. Shake off your blunders. How will you know your limits without an occasional failure? Never quit. Your turn will come.”

Reliable?
Absorption in ease is one of the most reliable signs
of present or impending decay.

Pictures show a 100,000-pound crane which fell into a Santa Rosa CA home Tuesday (occupants not home). The tree service was attempting to remove a 150-year old tree from the back yard. Please note the name on the crane: Reliable. Kind'of shows that not everything we think is reliable is just that. Therefore, we must never take the happenings in our lives for granted but continue to work at our ultimate goal.

"i" Almost Everything
Give me a break! Seems that "i" am electronically connected to function through life.
What makes me think that? Well, I electronically email, make money transfers, pay bills, search, Google, Craig’s list, set my calendar/tasks, manage my blog, Bible read, order prescriptions, research medical concerns, run an eBay store, do Paypal, set up forms, write letters, send greeting cards, check real estate properties/values, buy garden supplies, create slideshows, store photo albums, listen/download music, read the news, visit church web sites, make travel reservations of all kinds, check weather, check the time, order clothing, oversee jury duty, check local gas prices, find product values & print coupons, buy postage stamps, create prepaid shipping labels, order PO package pick-up, play games, and more.
One thing I can’t do electronically is, PRAY - however, someone will definitely try to accommodate such but iPray and/or iPrayer just won’t work. Prayer is an act of my spirit reaching toward the Heavens, and me being connected to the Lord without the help of electronics. So thankful that there's no "ctrl alt shift" keys needed here! And if the electricity goes out, I've still got the spiritual power to reach Him through prayer.

Because of Angels
Aren't there times when you wish the news would just go away? In the day in which we live, it's the "wrongs" not the "rights" that make headlines. Praises for doing good just aren't mentioned. People thrive on the negatives. Just stand in line at the supermarket and read the headlines on the magazine covers, then tell me it isn't so. Sensationalism is number one - and we must be careful to guard ourselves so that we do not enter into this realm.
Well, enough said of the negatives, let's talk about the positives. Most of my positives are better known as "angels" - ones who bring forth pure words and allow others dignity and honor. Oft times when battling "lowliness," an angel has and does visit me in the form of a card, a note, or a phone call (even an email or texting). This heavenly communication guides me through a dreary day. The words spoken or written are not necessarily catchy or prophetical in nature but ones that convey love. A call to say I'm thinking of you. A text written, closing with the words I love you. A note saying, "You are special, and we care." Sincerity scrawled upon paper, acknowledging genuine concern. Not the inventions of long, well-tailored communication, but purity fabricated from the heart. In particular, I am drawn to a note received in 1984, scratched in pencil on a torn half-sheet of ruled paper. It said, in part, "Not fancy paper I know but like our walk with God, it's what's on the inside that counts . . . We go separate ways most times . . . but friends are special people and not always together . . . but yet, always there." This friend has never left my side and is always in my heart. And even though we have not seen each other physically for 15 years, she still remains one of my angels because she "winged" by at a time when my world was broken into a million pieces.
Today, because of Angels, I can smile, I can laugh, I can cry, I can love, I can travel through the darkness - for my special angels are friends who "loveth" at all times. The holidays are approaching so why not take time to be someone's angel. I'll guarantee a tender brush of genuine care is just what a lonely, hurting soul needs to help them soar.

Let's Balance Our Act
Why have we become such a greedy, self-indulgent nation - always looking to OUR WANTS and not OTHERS NEEDS? May I repeat the word: NEEDS.
When we think of greed and self-indulgence, we most certainly think of green paper. But what about greed/self-indulgence taking our time from prayer, fasting, witnessing, encouraging, or caring for others? And why if we do something for the Lord's cause we believe we deserve to be compensated (financially or audibly)? When are we just going to do something for the One who saved us just because we love Him?
Ophs, just slipped off my soapbox. But thanks for listening to the end. If not, that's okay too.
