Right to be Lazy

Today I am celebrating the right to be lazy. Did you know that a person can't be taught to be lazy - you either have it, or you don't. Well, today I've got it! How about you?

My Goal - To Find Beauty

Discovering an idyllic place, we find ourselves filled with a yearning to linger here, where time stands still and beauty overwhelms - Unknown author

Had been under the weather and shut in but when I felt to get out and about on Tuesday, this is where me and hubby went. Beautiful, breathtaking Los Osos which has a way of adding peace and contentment to the soul.

Appreciate Others

Blessed are they who have the gift of making friends, for it is one of God's best gifts. It involves many things, but above all, the power of going out of one's self, and appreciating whatever is noble and loving in another - Thomas Hughes

What's Best ?

Food labels are supposed to make everything so simple. In theory they should tell us what's in the product, so we can make an informed decision about buying it. However, manufacturers are taking advantage of lifestyle trends and labeling packets of crisps and biscuits as "healthy" thereby misleading shoppers.

Now I must ask, are you being mislead when it comes to God's truths? What type of packaging are you receiving? Is the labeling misleading thus advertising a bit and piece religion as "healthy"? (as Mervi would say, Just a Thought).

Friends

I have friends in overalls
whose friendship I would not swap
for the favor of the kings of the world
- Thomas A. Edison

I realize this picture is a little...well, unusual? unique? or (perhaps to you) disgusting? I'll let you decide; however, it will prove my point. Genuine friends are seldom wrapped in beautiful packages but are what most would call, common folk. These friends are in our lives for the long haul - encouraging us, loving us (no matter the circumstances), and ready to carry us in our darkest trials. If you wish, you can prefer the friends in royal attire that are flashy and splashy but I prefer the friends who wear blue denim. Must clarify that I do have one friend that wears royalty. He is someone one that we all should call "Friend".

Walk With Me, My Friend
by K.J. Hoppee

Come walk with me, my friend

As we journey down friendship's lane

Basking in the delights of today's triumphs

Vowing to stand firmly in tomorrow's defeats.

Let laughter guide our way, my friend

Knowing that we have each other

Though storm clouds gather in the distance

Our confidence and trust need not waiver.

Always smile through the tears, my friend

For pain diminishes as we walk side by side

Whether journeying through the lowly valley

Or scaling the mountain to its majestic crest.

Hurdle past each obstacle, my friend

For in many of life's circumstances

Happiness is not found in abundance but quality

May our faith continually soar with eagles.

Choose wisely who you travel with, my friend

Walk with someone who expects nothing in return

Who has words of comfort without speaking

Genuinely seek such a friend, and you will find Him.

Beauty in the Journey

We are so often caught up in our destination that we forget to appreciate the beauty of the journey. Appreciation is a wonderful feeling, don't overlook it. Take time to stop and smell the flowers.

BTW: Pictures are of our place. Love it when our acre starts to flower and the colors burst foward. Thankful for The Papa that keeps the beauty alive.

Do You Know "ME"?

"Remember Me? I have no respect for justice. I maim without killing. I break hearts and ruin lives. I am cunning and malicious and gather strength with age. The more I am quoted, the more I am believed. I flourish at every level of society. My victims are helpless. They cannot protect themselves against me because I have no name and no face. To track me down is impossible. The harder they try, the more elusive I become. I am nobody’s friend. Once I tarnish a reputation, it is never quite the same. They call me Gossip..."

Setting Our Sails

It is the set of the sails,
not the direction of the wind
that determines which way we will go

Sometimes it is important to reevaluate how we look at life - so the last few days I've been gathering my thoughts and seeking direction. I pray: Lord, let me set sail to follow your course.

Peeps - Always in Season

Don't even ask me why I'm stuck on Easter candies! I have not a clue, except doing so has educated me as to a new candy store (yesterday's post) and the facts as to Peeps. What I thought was a total Easter candy is not! Those marshmallow candies shaped into chicks, bunnies, and other animals, is considered a candy for all seasons. True it started out with only yellow chicks (originally formed by hand and coming in only one color-Yellow). Well, enough of my jabbering - here's a few pics to show you some Peeps that are out there.

50% Off, You Think?

Got to drooling over some Easter candies located at The Candy Store on Russian Hill in San Francisco. Think any TCS goodies might go on sale at 50% off since it's after the event?

And here's the one that I'm most interested in...

Chocolate Bunny is hand formed.

Well, the more I think about these delectables, the more I doubt any will go on sale. If I want discounted Easter candy, it's time to head to a "Mart" store to pick up a "cloned" sweet (even though it wouldn't taste anything like the above).

You know it's that way in life too - we can either pay the price to get the best or we can settle for something not nearly as good at a bargain price. As for candy, a bargain is okay but I want the best of what God has for me no matter what the cost. I'm not interested in 50% off salvation.

He's Alive!

I love Easter time. For many it is only a celebration of bunny rabbits and colored eggs but to us who know Christ in the fullest, it is a celebration commemorating His resurrection. So today I say, Glory to God in the Highest, for Jesus is Risen! Yes, HE truly LIVES!

A Pattern of Love

A pattern of thorns placed upon a brow
Unveiling a crown, dignity not to allow.
A pattern of heading up Calvary’s hill
Steep and roughed as to break one’s will.

A pattern of pillage of the mind and flesh
Taunting and mocking to amply enmesh
A pattern of rejection encased on a tree
Gnarled and crooked, no beauty to see.

A pattern of royalty hung between thieves
Seizing a moment of overwhelming griefs
A pattern of nails driven in a pure hand
Revealing the cruelty of the cynical man.

A pattern of blood gushing from a King’s side
Piercing the spirit, humility no room to abide
A pattern of a robe engaged in a game
Soldiers gambling lots, to the owner’s defame.

Then comes a pattern of mercy and grace
Because of Calvary, transgressions to erase
For a pattern of love died for our sins to depart
Devotion designed in our God’s own heart.

Calvary's Voice

Calvary speaks of unwavering love...
Love pressed against a rugged cross,
Crimson trails etching their way downward
in a solemn journey to the ground.

Calvary reaches out in love...
Love that echoes its song across the canyon,
Triumphantly releasing a serenade of conquests
Having mastered death, hell and the grave.
