Mighty Is He

The Lord your God is with you,
He is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing.

Be Aware! Take Action!

Awareness is empowering.

We all have lost a loved one to at least one of the above cancers, whether it be a family member, a friend or an acquaintance To honor those who are no longer with us or are now suffering, we must carry the message to others. Find a way to do so for "Awareness without Action is Worthless.

Dare to be Different

Don't dare to be different, dare to be yourself,
and if that doesn't make you different
then something is wrong.

Not Easy

Quit expecting life to be easy
because life's not that way...

Life is Like a Ferris Wheel

Though the circular round-and-round of routine be the bulk of life's affairs, make an occasional jutting diversion - of fun, love, or something that will outlast you - so the shape and motion of your life shall resemble the round life giving sun with bright rays shining forth from all directions. In Aunt Maggie's Memory

Aunt Maggie Ashlock Craig went home this morning. She was 93 years young. We are sadden but heaven is rejoicing. Her faithfulness, her worship, and her love for God were unconditional. She was a genuine Christian in every sense of the word. We will miss her.

Survival of Life's Storms

Today, I am a proud Nana sharing a poem written by my 13-year old granddaughter, Madison. She wrote it for a class at school. The poem connects life through the survival of a natural storm and that of the survival of cancer.

Flowers in a Summer Storm
by Madison Hopper

Flowers sway,
Side to side,
To and fro,
Gently with a summer breeze.

Flowers dance,
To the beat of the drums,
To the beat of the thunder.
The wind howls and hisses,
A storm is approaching.

Flowers fight,
The wind pushing them,
Pushing them to a breaking point.
A streak of lightning zips through the sky,
Striking a weeping willow.

Flowers become weak,
Unable to withstand the harsh conditions.
The wind laughs,
The storm fortifies.

Flowers grow feeble,
Not able to decide their own fate.
Some give and break,
Others are determined,
Yet are barely able to endure the storm.

Flowers survive,
Though frail.
The deadly storm passes,
Taking some,
Yet feeling defeated.

Flowers mend,
Growing stronger by the day.
Trying to heal, Beating the odds.
Returning to normal,
Yet being stronger,
And more beautiful with the experience.

Flowers sway,
Side to side,
To and fro,
Gently with a summer breeze.

I've Known Perfection

Few are chosen to know perfection
for it lasts just a brief moment,
blessing those elected to handle its care
Perfection comes to bring joy and happiness,
filling the heart with wondrous elegance.

Perfection leaves an infinite impression
joining the young and the old,
the weak and the strong, the rich and the poor.
In its path is the confidence of heaven,
of God, of a special place beyond here and now.

I have seen perfection face to face
and have been touched by its tenderness,
I have heard its cry and its laughter.
Perfection came to visit me one day,
Its flawless beauty forever enchanting my soul.

Smile Awhile

It is easy to be pleasant when life flows by like a song, but the man worth while is the one who will smile when everything goes dead wrong. For the test of the heart is trouble, and it always comes with years, and the smile that is worth the praises of earth is the smile that shines through the tears.

Greed, Greed, Greed

Greed is a bottomless pit which exhausts the person in an endless effort to satisfy the need without ever reaching satisfaction. Erich Fromm

I don't know about you but it seems every day I come across instances of Greed. Greed (aka Selfishness) is defined as concern for one's own welfare without any consideration of others. Unfortunately, we are taught that the first rule of life is "me first" and foremost. First our motives are just, we start out with the need for self-preservation - and then after obtaining enough to sustain ourselves, we want more. It is at that point that it turns to Greed.

I pray that we as God's people will take a hard look within ourselves, and not let concern for only ourselves cause us to disregard others and their needs. We live in a world that is hungry for what we feel and experience in the Lord. They just need our direction to find it. Today make it a Share Day.

Today Is The Day

It's Groundhog Day.
The holiday began as a Pennsylvania German custom in the 18th century. Seems that if a groundhog emerging from its burrow on this day fails to see its shadow, it will leave the burrow, signifying that winter will soon end. If on the other hand, the groundhog sees its shadow, the groundhog will supposedly retreat into its burrow, and winter will continue for six more weeks.
