Tranquility From Within

When we are unable to find tranquility within ourselves, it is useless to seek it elsewhere.

I think just the opposite is true. When we are unable to find tranquility within ourselves, we must seek it elsewhere to restore our souls to peace. Nature does speak of tranquility and peace. Sometimes we must listen and allow God to speak to us through nature. Other times when we are unable to find tranquility within ourselves, we need to be with others who are at peace and who can share truths with us in the form of scripture or poetry. I think this quote is just plain wrong. If we cannot find tranquility within ourselves, we must put ourselves in a position to allow God to speak to us of His love. "Seek, and you will find."

I agree with you, Dead Mule. When we find a place, location or even a sitution where the mind, the spirit and body are at peace. These times and places are where we can easer allow the voice, spirit or presents of God to move closer to us. The more parts of US that are at peace the easer for the balance of man to be at peace.

Mervi,
Definitely Helen is right on this.

Helen,
I totally agree with you after hearing your case. Kind'a makes this guy's quote seem in error. Thanks so much for letting me see this in a new light - the right one!!!
