My Pig Is Dieting

My Piggy Bank after Buying Gas Yesterday

A friend sent this picture to me today, and just had to share the truth in in it. (BTW, we had to make a quick trip to San Francisco this week, and the price difference in a gallon of regular grade gas from our place to SF was 43 cents a gallon - unfortunately the highest being where we live on Central Coast).

This is a cute picture! I spend about $150 aweek going to work and taking care of church business.

Ouch!!! Let's carpool has much as possible!!!
Isn't the price of gas outrageous?
I remember living in Munich/Germany when you couldn't drive during the weekend and the lines at the pump were around the block. Talk about feeling squeezed...

My piggy bank looks the same. I hate these prices with a passion!

The fuel price in Texas is horrible, too. It really does make all our budgets "skinny"!

Kevin,
Oh, I do remember the days of the commute. Would hate to do it now. Kellee's gasoline costs continue to soar as she travels 50 miles to work one way, and the days and nights she goes to church, add another 60-plus miles one way.

Catherine,
It makes me more appreciative after reading what is/has happened in other countries.

Megan,
We do have high prices in our area. However, in Santa Maria where you live is a little cheaper than in Nipomo (where we are and is only six miles away) by 4-5 cents a gallon.

Tracie,
In Texas the prices should be some of the lowest due to the refineries. Kind of think someone is "taking us to the cleaners".

Sis. Hopper,

Oh, my goodness! I came across your blog and have enjoyed reading them so much. I didn't know that you were in Nipomo and were so close. We have an industrial store in Paso Robles and our branch manager lives in Nipomo.

I, too, am so amazed at how much gas is on the central coast. It has definitely put a squeeze on the pocketbook.

We would love to take you and Bro. Hopper to dinner sometime.

Hope to talk with you soon,

Debi,
So good to hear from you. We had heard that you had a store in Paso, but no one gave us any other info. Yes, we would love to see you. This month is packed as we go back to San Francisco to Bro Hopper's doctors, and will be gone 9-10 days (maybe more if docs dictate). Perhaps sometime after that we can visit. If you come to Nipomo, please give a holler so you come over.

Rochelle,
It is so unfortunate that all of us can relate to this.
