I love to eavesdrop on my kids when they are having friendly conversations because they are so cute. Usually, Blake wants to talk when he gets home from school, and Bryn wants to talk when she first awakes or just before going to bed at night. I love to hear their voices.
I'm listening to my 22 yr old daughter as I read blogs. She is giving me a perm. She keeps telling me it is payback time for all the times I gave her one and pulled her hair! lol Amazing what you learn when you listen!
Helen, To be truthful I would always rather listen than talk. Guess it is form being an older child.
Mervi, I have always loved that saying.
Jana, As a mother, there is nothing better than to listen to your children talk and their animation in doing so. I still think back on the times when my children were young and the things they said. Priceless memories.
Tracie, Oh, I know where you are coming from. Our children know how to get our action and remind us of things past. Your comment made me chuckle. Thanks.
Sometimes when I do stop to listen, I'm amazed at the wisdom that comes out of the mouths of those babes. Other times, they make me burst with laughter.

Great thought.
Some days we don't need to talk,
but just listen to what others have to say.
I am thinking this morning of the old saying. “Silence is golden.”

Carol,
Your words are so true. It is amazing the emotions that come when our children speak. Tears, laughter, etc. - their words present them all.
