Do We Believe Everything We Say?

No Matter What We Prefer to Call It....

It May Be Best Known as the Destroyer

Eeeks! Such a revelation here!

Kari,
Seems there is a new way to say everything. Seems no one wants to be held responsible for their words.

How true. Gossip is a destroyer.

Carol,
And the truth of it. Gossip is not about just what we hear - it actually begins with what we say.

Amen. Every once in a while, I entertain the idea of just deleting my blog - then I remember the fantastic people I "know" only through the web. The web is actually quite neutral; it's the people who act like people here. Reminds me of prayers chains that teeter so close to gossip, too.

Helen,
Don't you entertain such an idea! I love your blog. You stay right where you belong. I believe that Blogsville makes people more honest because we are exposed to the whole world, and what we say is written in black and white.

What I'm referring to is the words we say when speaking to others about people/situations. We must be careful as we have the potential to destroy lives, both mentally and spiritually.

My husband just preached the best message I have ever heard him preach. The anointing was powerful and the title of his message was "Your Words Betray You" talking about this very subject.

Rochelle,
It is so good to hear from you. Hope your trip was great. Will stop by your blog site to see what's going on. I would love to have heard your husband's message. It is a subject that makes us cringe but we only do that if we are guilty or want to make sure we are living right.

Jen,
Welcome to my little part of Blogland. Went to your blog site and realized that your mom and I are blogging buddies. BTW, your blog looks great.

Karen, powerful message here. It all starts with that unruly member of the body, THE TONGUE!

"I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me." Psalms 39:1

Jolene,
Thank you, and appreciate your scripture as it only adds to the post.

"Sticks may brake my bones, but words..."
How untrue, broken bones WILL heal, but sometimes the deep wounds of gossip cause bleeding for a very long time.
Destroyer - that's right!

Catherine,
