Is Change Really Necessary?

Excuse me?!? LOL Some change is getting ridiculous. I just heard about a pastor who will not allow anyone in his church to sing songs that use the word blood because "it scares the unchurched visitor." Puh-leeze!!! I think we need a revival of some of the old days.

Jana,
Some changes are needed in life and even in the administration of the church but the Bible tells us to follow the old path when it comes to sin, Truth, Calvary (and the blood). To extract these principles from the Word and the pulpit allows them to become extinct, which is a death sentence to the church.

LOL!! Sadly, I can really see this happening! Our society has come too timid... always afraid of hurting somebody's feelings!!

Hi Karen, A good friend sent me this a while back.

Life is change.
Growth optional.
Choose wisely.

Rochelle,
It is not good to hurt people; however, when it comes to the Word, we must be careful and draw proper lines.

Helen,
Your friend's thought is well taken. "Choose wisely" is the key. Wise men still seek Him (first - before changing His Word).

I'll second Jana and Rochelle. You are right about being careful. But IF the Spirit leads, it'll be fine.

This is what happens when we want to tolerate everything and anything.

Catherine,
You are right - where God leads, He brings witness for the change.

Carol,
We have been so tolerate that it is trying to take over the church now that it's captured everything else. One little seed can grow a whole bush.

LOL. I dunno it's true that society has become timid in addressing issues and stepping on toes. I was talking to my friend Marcus and how he hates the word "backslider" he'd rather change it to people saying "Lost".. because they know the way home but they are jsut lost right now. Made me think and I think I like that lil word change :)
