A closed door can be just as much the workings of the Spirit
as an open door.
as an open door.

Hi Karen, I love the picture and the message.
Thanks Helen. It took quite a spell to find the picture that I thought fit the post. I think what struck me was that the door seemed inviting upon first glance but when looking closely at the door, it not only was closed but had wire in front of the door handle. The picture truly tells the whole story without any of my reasoning. However, I will say this - we must choose our doors to enter wisely, making sure we are welcome.
I always appreciate your wisdom. Today I could feel the Lord speaking to me through this post.
Thank you ~ Mindy
What a great post! We are at one of the times that all of the doors seem to be barred! We have determined that they must truly mean to "stand still." Love ya!
Awesome!!!!!!! Kent preached a very similar message Sunday using traffic lights as the object lesson. We really shouldn't try to force a door or run a red light!
We needed this post, too. Sometimes we just keep pounding on the door without even considering that it could be God's will.
Our calling is to full-time ministry. The door just hasn't opened yet. Perhaps God still has more to teach us before He'll let us venture out? Hmmm...
Jaime
Mindy,
I appreciate your kind words. He spoke to me too because I was trying to beat down a door that wasn't suppose to be opened.
Susan,
What is inside the doors that the Lord has in store for you and Stephen isn't quite ready. Watch out when they start opening because it will be overwhelming.
Tracie,
I would have loved to have heard your husband's message. We just try to do so much to help God fix our lives according to our wills. When preaching comes forward to rearrange our plans, it's a blessing.
Jaime,
I am so excited for you and your husband. You have received the highest of callings. Perhaps God has a few last minute things to arrange before He hands you the key. I will be praying with you both.
That's good preaching!
Just a reminder: All Christians have been called to full-time ministry. Some may occupy a pulpit, but their calling is no more full-time than anyone else's. Life is full time for all of us. And that's what we're asked to give: our lives.
Carol,
Thank you.
Helen,
You are so right, we are all called to give our lives to Christ - and it is definitely a full-time calling. If it isn't, we are doing something wrong.
