Showdown at Revival Corral

We are all creatures of habit whether we realize it or not. We tend to take the position that things must always remain the same, not realizing how it will affect others. It could be time for a change. Think?

It is so sad!
And yet it so true!

In a couple of different revivals when we were evangelizing, Stephen would have the entire church switch sides. It was hilarious watching the expressions. Some of the elders were none too happy. But each time, we had great church! Too funny how we get set in our ways!

That's funny! I don't sit in the same place very often. I wasn't always like that, but one day I decided I would move. I used to only sit in the deaf section so I would be close if I needed to sign but it hit me that I didn't really know many people "on the other side!"(We have about 800 people in our church). The looks and responses I got was soooo funny! So now I move around a bit. And you know what I found out... God still feels the same no matter where I sit!! LOL!

Mervi,
Yes, it is so true, and sad.

Susan,
I am sure you have seen the "best" and "worst" of pew sitters. It is surprising how territorial we humans are.

Rochelle,
I wish I could say that the Hoppers have moved to change church seats but my husband is definitely a "creature of habit" and he feels so out of place if we aren't in the same place.

The cartoon is funny but unfortunately true in some cases. I remember a pastor's wife who become very loud and rude at some visitors who unknowingly sat in her seat. It was a sectional meeting and I remember trying to smoothe things over to those visitors because I was so embarrassed and it wasn't even my church.

Jana,
When a person is territorial it is hard to bring them to reason. Oh, I know it had to be embarrassing - and then trying to be diplomatic at the same time. However, I'm almost assured that every church has at least one "Martin" in their church.
