One Among A Thousand

Just a thought for today - Most people start out following the crowd, but sooner or later become LOST in it.

Watch for one among a thousand faces,
with a separate identity and thereby conformity replaces.
Finding one daring to be different from the crowd,
with their true independence most definitely allowed.
For in every gathering there is one who stands out,
with quality of principles beyond any doubt.
In traveling life's road, may we consider a modest roadway,
for the highways grant you no individuality to display.

Lord, may I follow closely after you so that I don't become lost in the crowd.

Finding one daring not to be different from the crowd
with his/(her) true dependence most definitely allowed.

with quantity of rhetoric beyond any doubt.
In traveling life’s road, we may consider a modest roadway,
and the highways grant all a soapbox but nothing (necessarily)to say.

Helen,
Excellent. Loved your version. So sorry I haven't been commenting on your blog but somehow it is not letting me comment. I am frustated by it, but will be with my daughter next week and she is a computer whiz. Don't think I'm not reading your post, I AM. Just can't put in my two cents.

Hi Karen. I'll check my settings. Just try again, I guess. For a while I didn't get e-mail notification when Jana left a comment. I did for everyone else. Just not Jana. Go figure.

Helen,
I commented on Spam through my laptop before it went on to meet its maker. Sorry that I can't answer until I get my new laptop loaded. This is my office computer and it won't let me into your site. After we get back from my husband's doctors in San Francisco next week, I will have my computer guy take a look at what's going wrong. Sorry.

Tena & Ronda,
I would love to have a LITTLE penguin. Always loved them. I have found this site that has adorable animal pictures so I have been caught up in using them. Somehow they make me smile (I like that).

Jana,
Funny, but I don't see your kids among the multitudes. To me, they stand out with their presence, character and charm. They are special.

Hi Karen,

Don't sweat the small stuff. Commenting on my blog is small stuff.
Love, Helen

Emperor penguins were my favorite exotic animals when I was a child, along with all wild baby animals!!!

Catherine,
I am with you. The Emperor penguins are wonderful little creatures. In fact, with age, I am beginning to walk more and more like them.
