"Trip'n" Around

While on our mini-travels, we discovered the Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden in Arcadia. What a great place. I'm sure it is old hat to the Southern Californians but understand you So-Cals, it was brand new to us Nor-Central Cal folk.

If you like the outdoors, birds, horticultural and historical resources, you will enjoy this place. It covers 127-acres with walking paths throughout - and a tram to guide you through the facility on a 45-minute tour. There are over 230 varieties of birds, and the peacocks run amok, flouting their beautiful tail feathers, with occasionally one hollering to remind us we are in their territory. The tropical greenhouse is filled with orchids. Throughout the acres, you can enjoy the Australian, African, Asian, Celebration, Weaver's, Desert, and Rose Gardens (to name a few). At Tallac Knoll, there's an old Sycamore Tree, like the one Zacchaeus sat in to see Jesus. I could go on but think I'll let some the pictures speak for themselves.

What a neat place! And, no, I've never been there! There are so many things to see and do in SoCal, it's hard to get to them all.

Tracie,
Thanks. These pictures don't do the gardens justice. It is a very inviting place.

Kathy,
I can just imagine. We stayed in a fairly small area and didn't see a 10th. We went to the Rose Bowl float decorating but Bro Hopper couldn't walk it but it was fun anyway. I wanted to get inside and take pics for the blog but had to pass.
